I’ve been to a number of Japanese Shinto shrines before, but I finally got to visit the most important one last October. Thanks to Gervin for bringing David and me to Kamakura’s Tsurugaoka Hachimangu.
All in all a very photogenic place, besides the historical factor that compel people to visit. I always have a soft spot for the kind of vermillion red that they use for shrines.
I heard this place always gets packed during New Year’s Eve! I have yet to experience the most important occasion in Japan, but one day for sure!
