Fashion month just ended, but I’m far from getting over all the pretty, IG-worthy photos posted by the world’s most prolific fashion bloggers. All the NYFW updates totally made me miss my last two amazing but brief visits to the city, and I’m really hoping I can stay there longer next time. In the meantime, I’ll live vicariously through others’ photos from the Internet, and watch ongoing TV shows set in NYC like Girls, 2 Broke Girls, Suits, etc.
And of course, play pretend and imagine what kind of outfits I’ll wear to each Manhattan neighborhood.
My poser East Village “individualistic” style. I was supposed to go all-out edgy and vintage with this one, but I figured I should still keep a bit of myself and inject a touch of femininity, just the way I like it! After all, individualism can be in a form of separation from a specific collective a.k.a. not just following whatever everyone else is doing despite stereotypes and whatnot.

Prepping it up with my Upper East Side-ish outfit… which is obviously inspired by Gossip Girl. Sorry I’m not sorry (in true Blair Waldorf style) I’m basing these outfits off pop culture! I haven’t seen anyone dress like this when I went to New York. Or maybe I just went to the wrong places!
Posh, understated elegance for SoHo styling. When in doubt, I always ask myself – What would Olivia Palermo wear?
How to get that perfect artsy fartsy Chelsea look? I’ve always admired people who look kind of unkempt but still put-together like it’s all so effortless. It’s moments like these that I end up spending more time trying to make myself look like I just rolled out of bed rather than looking like my normal prim and proper self.
Anyhow, by this time, I’m sure you’re already expecting some sort of sponsored announcement about New York. I won’t keep you guys waiting with my lame attempts at looking like a cool NYC girl!
