Seoul Beauty Tour

Planning a trip abroad with your girl friends any time soon? I can’t think of a better place to go on a beauty/relaxation getaway than Seoul. Here are some activities you can do while you’re there:

1) Get gel nails at Dashing Diva

Going to this particular Dashing Diva in Gangnam made miss On Style (Jessica and Krystal) all of a sudden. Need a season 2 please!

This is supposed to be Jessica’s favorite nail salon and I can totally see why. It only took the nail technician 15-20 minutes to give me perfect french tips. I’ve never experienced such fast and precise service before, especially since I came in with ugly nails, lol. Truly the perfect nail salon for every busy Gangnam lady!

2) Take a break from shopping at the Innisfree Green Cafe

It’s trendy for fashion and beauty brands to make their own cafes and restaurants at the moment, and one of the more highly-regarded ones is the Innisfree Green Cafe in Myeongdong. Before digging in, I customized my own palette on the ground floor, and got a tourist tax refund on the spot!

3) Relax at the Sulwhasoo Flagship Store

Sulwhasoo, Korea’s most well-known luxury beauty brand, opened a flagship building in Gangnam, and it’s all sorts of eye candy! Brass frames everywhere – surely an Instagrammer’s paradise! I particularly enjoyed hearing about Sulwhasoo’s story, how they pay homage to Korean history with their formulations and packaging, and how they managed to preserve the brand’s philosophy over the years despite the ever-changing market demands.

(My friends all went for a luxurious 1-hour massage, but I had to skip because of my allergies, huhu)

4) Take photos at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) LED Rose Garden

I can’t think of a better night activity than Dongdaemun! The LED Rose Garden is just walking distance from malls like Doota and Migliore that are open until 4/5AM. When shopping is life!

5) Make your own perfume at Aromind

My favorite activity in Seoul.

I didn’t think I’d enjoy making my own perfume as much as I did at Aromind. Found in the middle of the picturesque Bukchon Hanok Village, you and your friends can take one morning off to get acquainted with different scents and take home your very own concoction. I managed to create a scent that somehow reminded me of hotel lobbies – Freesia, Baies, and Lime Blossom. Make sure to book an appointment!

6) Try on Hanboks at Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Seoul Center

Saving the best for last! There are a lot of places that let you try on hanboks, but you can do so for free at the Korea Tourism Organization Center in Seoul. Since the Pyeongchang Olympics are coming up, KTO also set up some VR attractions that will let you experience skiing, sleighing, etc.

Before you leave, you can take pictures with your favorite K-pop stars at the K-pop Star Zone! A must if you love YG artists in particular!
