Unveil the Surprise

If you’ve been following some Australian, Thai, Singaporean, Indonesian and Malaysian blogs, I’m pretty sure you’ve already encountered Reebonz in one way or another. It’s an online destination for 100% authentic designer brands sold at affordable prices, with sale events that change almost everyday. Before you know it, you’ve already added Reebonz in your must-visit-daily bookmark folder. Come back to this post and comment if you end up doing the same after signing up and/or making your first purchase!

(Zara top and heels, Yesstyle inset skirt leggings, Mango bracelet) Hype on Lookbook here.

Anyhow, I’m writing this as a collaboration of sorts, and luckily, they gave me some cash credits while I tried out the whole Reebonz experience.

Recently, they gave out $40 as their “Welcome August!” treat! Since it’s the first of September now, maybe they’ll give out credits again. A lot of items, of course, cost more than $40, so they just deduct the credits from the total amount when you check out.

In my case, I also added a few dollars (you can pay through credit card or bank transfer) to get this bag, but it wasn’t bad at all because at the time of purchase, there was a 20% coupon code for US brands. So I had a 20% off and cash credits subtracted off the total amount! I felt like it was my birthday!

I first saw this bag on Kryz’s Reebonz post, and fell in love instantly! Lissa also posted about her Marc by Marc purchase here. It’s so me in a lot of ways, black and white and all, but my favorite part about it is that it’s big enough to fit a lot of stuff, but also small enough for my height and body type. Yes, you also have to consider these factors since designer brands are investments and should be thought of very carefully before purchasing (unless you are a billionaire heiress, or unless you are Napoles, lol). It’s easy to fall into the trap of buying one and ending up letting it wear you instead of the other way around!

During the time when Reebonz let me choose, I was surprised this style (Marc by Marc Jacobs Alley Katz Bunny) was still available! If you’re lucky, a certain style would have 2-3 stocks left, but most of the time there’s only one stock left for each item. This is why people go crazy over Reebonz sale events! When there are 40%-50% outlet sales, the good bags (especially Balenciagas) are usually gone within the first hour or so. It’s a battlefield out there, I tell you! I heard that in Singapore, some office ladies go straight to the website as soon as sale events go up at noon.

I ordered the bag, then they shipped it out 5 days later. It arrived on my doorstep in 4 days. So total of 9 days! My shipment apparently got stuck at FedEx for 2 days because of Maring/Habagat/typhoon. They sent it straight to my house as soon as the weather got better. You can track the location since FedEx emails details like a responsible boy scout. I dislike having to send messengers to the post office to get my packages since it’s such a hassle, and usually these packages also charge expensive fees too. Seriously takes the fun out of online stores.

But I didn’t have to pay anything for my Reebonz package which was A+. I think a lot of Filipinos are afraid of ordering from international stores because of the taxes, etc. but thankfully, for this website, you won’t have to feel the wrath of the Pasay post office a.k.a. the bane of my existence.

Overall, this first experience was good. It arrived in this big black box with a big glittery bow! It was wrapped in thick plastic so the box won’t get damaged. Inside, there was a cloth pouch where the bag was carefully stored, and there was a thick, black paper wrapped around the pouch as well. Sealed with a cute Reebonz sticker. Class!
