Lovers of contemporary art should visit the New Museum on the Lower East Side. One cold, rainy day, I met up with my friend Cheskie who happened to be in New York the same time as me. I didn’t really research about this museum beforehand, which was unusual considering how I often come prepared with mental notes. The weather outside wasn’t cooperating, and it’s always handy to have warm and dry museums within walking distance. With no expectations, we went inside the museum, and found ourselves completely fascinated with the number of political, rather revolutionary exhibitions! Overall an interesting experience. Not sure if I liked everything I saw since I prefer more modern and abstract art, but if you find yourself looking for a good art space in SoHo, do pay a visit to the New Museum!
- It’s a sin not to take a photo of the whole building, but my camera was getting soaked in the rain! This photo of the entrance should suffice given our circumstance!
- Ghost Money designed by Jonathan Peck.
- Art books for all.
- Barbara Rossi’s Poor Traits
- Love Intelligentsia Coffee! Got to try it out during my first visit to Chicago. Been actively seeking it out since then.
- More Barbara Rossi.
- Wynne Greenwood.
- From the Bad Girls exhibit.
- Hatters gonna hat! That’s it for Jim Shaw’s The End is Near. I checked the website for news about the latest exhibitions, and I’m sad I’m missing out on Pia Camil’s sculptural installation. The latest photos all look lovely.
- Coffee at The Cupping Room Cafe.
- Blue cheese and avocado? I’ll say yes to that!
