Los Angeles: LACMA

C+M Coffee and Milk!

First time at LACMA, or the Los Angeles County Museum of Art! LACMA curator, are you me? Everything in the museum fit the kind of aesthetic and experience that I love. They have areas purely dedicated to De Stijl / neoplasticism (They have a Mondrian!), and Japanese art (OMG, Hokusai and Hiroshige prints!). They have pretty restaurants and hipster cafes for when you need to take a break from all the overwhelming eye candy. They have permanent art installations for your Snapchat and Instagram moments.

LACMA had everything I wanted and more. I wasn’t able to go The Broad in Downtown LA, where all their Contemporary Art is exhibited, but LACMA in itself proved to be perfect for plain old me. After all these years of geeking out in museums (thanks mom!), I found myself developing a certain inclination to specific types of art. And this museum fits the bill perfectly! I really enjoyed my visit here, and I think it’s a non-intimidating museum that can be enjoyed by all ages. Pretty good range of art from 16th-19th century classics to more abstract 21st century stuff.
