The SM Store Beauty Section in SM Makati is officially open today! Spanning 2,500 square meters, it is the biggest beauty store in the whole Philippines. They’ve really got it all for you in SM Beauty Makati – free makeovers, hairstyling, nail art, skin analysis and tutorials. You name it, they have it!
I’ll share pictures next week, but in the meantime, I made two holiday-themed make-up tutorials using beauty brands that you can find in SM Beauty Makati.
This first look is an upgraded version of my everyday make-up. I say upgraded because it has additional steps to make your eyes extra sparkly for the holiday season.
It may look complicated, but it’s actually very easy to do. I’ve worn this look countless times this week, and it suits all lipstick shades, contact lenses colors, and even hair color!
Step 1: Apply a sparkly light brown eyeshadow to your eyelid.
I used BYS’ 01 Neutral Charm palette’s 7th shade (first row from left).
Step 2: After you’ve applied your base, choose a darker brown color to apply on your eyelid. I used BYS’ 01 Neutral Charm palette’s 9th shade (first row, last color).
Step 3: Heavily line your lids with a forest green color, and smudge to blend with the brown eyeshadow.
I used Deborah’s 24 Ore Waterproof Eye Pencil that comes with a smudger! I’m crazy about this product! I fail at blending different colors, but this one makes everything so much easier.
Step 4: Apply a brown-gold eyeshadow on your lower lashline. I used BYS’ 01 Neutral Charm palette’s 8th shade (first row, second to the last color).
Step 5: Use the same forest green color to line half of your lower lashline. Smudge to blend with the brown.
Step 6: Go for gold by adding a hint of gold eyeliner on the inner corners of your eyes. This can instantly make your eyes pop!
I used PAC’s liquid eyeliner in Bazaar Gold. What’s great about this is that it’s very buildable. You can continue layering on top of your original application if you want additional sparkles.
Step 7: Line your eyes as close to your lashline as possible. I winged it downwards just because it’s my signature look, but you can wing it in whichever way you want!
I used NYX’s Super Fat Eye Marker. This was surprisingly easy to use!
Step 7: Here’s a tip on how to fake lower lashes without having to wear uncomfortable lower lash falsies – draw them manually! You can space the lines out for a dolly look.
BYS has a 3 Way Tip Liquid Eyeliner Pen that you can also use as a normal eyeliner. Just angle the pen differently, and voila!
Step 8: Pile on mascara on your top and bottom lashes.
I used Flormar’s Revolution Volume Mascara. IN LOVE WITH THIS! It creates volume without clumping, and the effect is similar to feathery eyelash extensions. No need for false lashes anymore if you have this secret (but now not-so-secret) weapon.
Step 9: Finish off with a deep berry lip color! I used NYX’s Black Cherry Cerise Noire.
So this is my final casual holiday look, complete with full outfit! I know I’m already late with the boyfriend jeans trend, but I couldn’t help getting a pair for myself when I saw these perfect 501s from Levi’s! Jeans can still be dressy if you pair them with the right items. Who knew they’d look good with pearls and pointy heels?
